The Team

You will be introduced to the Team and encouraged to make contact with any one of them.

Recognising that personal service is the foundation of our success and bearing in mind that building the business would need to retain this foundation, Duncan set about assembling a team that works collectively on all cases - delivering chartered financial planning at the very highest level.

Duncan Mackenzie

Director, Charted Financial Planner
Duncan is a director and founder of Mackenzie Investment Strategies Ltd.

For almost 30 years he has grown a valued client base, delivering financial planning based on Trust.  After studying accountancy at Aberdeen University, Duncan started his career as a private client stockbroker with Campbell Neill & Co in Glasgow.  Many clients will know him from his time with a regional accountancy firm, where he managed a team of IFA’s throughout Scotland.

With a desire to deliver a personal financial planning service to a small number of clients, he took the bold leap to set up his own company. Many of his clients followed him and the company has now grown to what you see today.

Duncan is a chartered financial planner and holds the highest qualification as Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.

Duncan and Avril have managed to keep a good work/life balance over the years, with many of you following events such as their daughters Jill and Kim developing Duncan’s love of horses!  Now that the family is growing up, Duncan is delighted that Avril can take a more visible role in the company that she helped develop from the outset.

Duncan is a director of Ross County Football Club, a team which has close family links as his grandfather played for them in the 1930’s. As a native of Dingwall, he was delighted to be invited by Roy MacGregor to join his board. He has also been spotted at Inverness Caledonian Thistle as he is keen to ensure that both Highland teams succeed at the top level of Scottish football.

Duncan’s golfing ability is testimony to the time and dedication that he has spent on developing the client base!

Chris has joined us as a Financial Planner and is working towards his Chartered Status.
After studying Marketing Management and Entrepreneurship at University, Chris joined The Royal Bank of Scotland working his way up to Financial Planning Manager.

"As Duncan and Avril's much loved family dog, Coby has been an integral part of Mackenzie Investment Strategies from the beginning.  Many clients will know him as the first point of contact when calling at the previous office.  He is always very vocal in his boisterous welcome and continues to be a regular visitor to the new office."
